1) Acceptance

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2) Current status (non-commercial)

Intersections is a personal, non-commercial publication. No paid tiers, ads, or affiliate links at this time. 

3) Accounts and emails

You can read most content without an account. If you subscribe, keep your information accurate and your login secure. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works.

4) Intellectual property

The Site and its original content are owned by me or my licensors and protected by law. I grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and read for your own use. No commercial use without written permission. “Intersections” and related marks are my trademarks.

5) Submissions and contributions

If you send pitches, drafts, comments, or other material (“Submissions”):

  • You confirm you own the rights or have permission to share them.
  • You grant me a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, edit for clarity, and publish your Submissions on the Site, in emails, and on my social channels, with credit to you.
  • I may moderate, edit, or remove Submissions at my discretion.

6) Acceptable use

Do not: break the law; infringe IP; defame; post unlawful, harmful, or invasive content; attempt to hack or disrupt the Site; scrape at scale; impersonate others; or transmit malware. I may suspend or block access for violations.

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. I do not control and am not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

8) No professional advice

Content is for general information only. It is not legal, financial, medical, immigration, or other professional advice. Use at your own risk.

9) Disclaimers

The Site and newsletter are provided “as is” and “as available.” I disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I do not guarantee email delivery or uptime.

10) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from or related to your use of the Site or newsletter. My total liability for any claim will not exceed US $100.

11) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your Submissions or your violation of these Terms.

12) DMCA

To report copyright concerns, email readintersections@gmail.com with: your contact details; identification of the work; the URL of the material; a good-faith statement; and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized agent.

13) Termination

I may suspend or terminate access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violations of these Terms.

15) Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. State and federal courts in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction and venue.

16) Changes

I may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on the Site with a new effective date.
